Forest restoration using Dẻ nếp (Castanae Mollissima)
Dẻ nếp (Castanea mollissima) is closely linked to mountain forests and local livelihoods, offering long-term ecological and economic value. In forest restoration efforts, it helps stabilize soil, rebuild forest cover, and absorb and store CO₂ in biomass and forest soils. During harvest seasons, its chestnuts provide nutritious food and an important source of income for local communities. Planting Dẻ nếp supports a forest restoration model integrated with sustainable livelihoods, where forests and people thrive together.
